Eldarin rogue, recently come from the Feywild, pulled along by an unknown destiny
Aranis’ younger years had been spent in the Feywild plane, simply learning to survive the wild and dangerous realm. The Eldarin tribe he was a member of had encouraged Aranis’ dexterous fighting style, and taught him the ways of the Rogue. At the age of 35, still quite young in comparison to a human’s life, Aranis was separated from his tribe during a vicious attack on their village. Without a home or companions, he wandered for many months in the wild. One day, he happened upon a strange copse of trees that was set much more densely than normal. Curiosity drove him to explore, and on the far side of the cluster he found the air of the forest much lighter. Emerging from the tree cover, he found himself in a strange land. Speaking only Elvish and Primordial, he had difficulty early on discovering his whereabouts, but a helpful halfling in a nearby villiage spoke Elvish as well and informed him that he had crossed over the planes and was no longer in the Feywild. When a small tribe of goblins attacked the villiage, Aranis helped the local militia drive the monsters off. Paid in gold for his services, Aranis discovered that his skills could be valuable. Still, such a small villiage held few possibilities for a mercenary of his skills. Speaking the common language now, thanks to lessons from Nebin the halfling, Aranis departed westward in search of his destiny.
